Born from a Real Need
Wiggle Room started when founder Jamie Chen realized there just wasn't a good drop-in daycare option in Springfield — the kind of place you could swing by on a busy Tuesday without having a reservation or a monthly contract.
So she built one. Starting with three rooms and a small but passionate team, Wiggle Room opened its doors in 2019 and has been growing ever since. Today we serve over 500 families and counting.
Our philosophy is simple: every child deserves to feel safe, loved, and excited to be here — even if it's just for two hours on a Wednesday afternoon.

Jamie Chen
Founder & DirectorJamie founded Wiggle Room in 2019 after ten years as an early childhood educator and recognizing a real gap in flexible childcare options for families. She holds a degree in Early Childhood Education and is deeply passionate about creating environments where every child feels seen and valued.
Marcus Williams
Lead Toddler CaregiverMarcus has been with Wiggle Room since day one. His calm, playful energy makes him a favorite with toddlers and parents alike. He specializes in sensory play and developmental activities for the 1-3 age group.
Brittany Okafor
Infant & Preschool SpecialistBrittany's gentle, nurturing approach makes her exceptional with our youngest guests. She is trained in infant care best practices and brings creativity to preschool programming. Parents often say their child asks for Brittany by name.
State Licensed
Fully licensed by the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS).
CPR & First Aid
All staff hold current CPR and First Aid certification. Always.
Background Checked
Every team member passes a thorough background check before their first day.
Regular Inspections
We welcome state inspections and maintain an open-door policy for parents.
